Highpoint

The table was commissioned for an apartment in Highpoint II, a Grade I listed housing development designed by Berthold Lubetkin (Tecton). The table needed to serve the dual function of a kitchen/dining table as well as additions to abut the ends of a larger dining table. The table design borrows from the engineered structure of the Eames Eiffel table with a light elegant triangulated steel structure supporting the two halves of the glass table top. It was designed from first principles exploring triangulation as a way of achieving a light weight and structurally stable base.
